The team had moved from inside to outside, where the weather was hot — and the emotions were, too.
The fight started small but escalated, eventually involving players including linebacker Harold Perkins Jr., wide receiver Malik Nabers, cornerback Denver Harris, safety Major Burns and wide receiver Kyren Lacy, according to The Advocate's Wilson Alexander.
Fight broke out at #LSU practice during 11-on-11. Punches thrown, guys taken to the ground, multiple people involved. Malik Nabers and Kyren Lacy got sent to the locker room. Harold Perkins didn’t play another snap. Brian Kelly was not happy.

Nabers and Lacy were kicked out of practice immediately, and Perkins wasn't allowed back after participating in field drills.
Following the situation, head coach Brian Kelly got the team together and addressed it.
Quite the LSU practice today, started indoors and then things got wild when we went outdoors. Pretty solid fight between different groups, interestingly enough no defenders (4, 8, 10) were kicked out of practice, but wr 2 & 8 were.

Kelly got team together and basically told them “they’ve got to figure it out, they can’t be the team they want to be fighting each other, coaches can’t do it for them”
From the outside you can see that some dudes need to be reminded of their roles in the team. #LSU

Part of Brian Kelly’s message to #LSU team today after the fight broke out:
“We have to be able to maintain our emotions, while staying aggressive. It’s up to you all to figure that out, it’s not something that the staff can do for you. Respect your brother out here always.”

Reporters caught up with tight end Mason Taylor and defensive end Sai'vion Jones to discuss it.

It's a part of practice, not a big deal, but now that's it's over let's move on and not do it again.

"I feel like scuffling is something that always happens with football if you're passionate about it," Jones said. "If you're not having a scuffle, do you really want to play football?"
While not a great scene, it shows that there's a level of fire and competitiveness with the Tigers, and it appears they're putting the incident behind them.
Whether this becomes a lingering issue remains to be seen, but the season begins in less than a month against Florida State.
