Bob Stoops is in the first year of his retirement after he suddenly stepped down as the head coach of Oklahoma this summer. While he's said that he is not interested in coaching, that hasn't stopped other guys from returning to the profession like Steve Spurrier after his NFL stint. That has led some people to believe that Stoops might come back under the right circumstances and even head to Rocky Top.

USA Today columnist Dan Wolken says not to get your hopes up though as he believes you'll be "gravely disappointed."
If you’re a Tennessee fan who thinks you’re going to hire Bob Stoops, you’re going to be gravely disappointed.

And he even came up with a plan for what the Volunteers should do assuming that Butch Jones is gone after this season.
Make the obligatory run at Chip. When he says no, inquire with Fuente and Gundy. When they say no, Schiano, Frost, Clark, Norvell, Morris https://t.co/NHAeoScx73

Here are just a few thoughts people have on Stoops and the potential to head to Knoxville:
Call me crazy, but mark my words Bob Stoops will be at Tennessee next year!😎 Him saying he won't coach again don't mean anything ask Urban😂

Big Game Bob Stoops would absolutely kill it at Tennessee. It’s him and everybody else, IMO

Is there really a ton of great SEC coaches anymore? If there’s going to be another one it will be Bob Stoops to Tennessee

Stoops seems to be enjoying his retirement and it would be hard to believe he would come out of it to take control of a program that seems to be in disarray and would have high expectations from boosters and fans right out of the gate. But hey, Tennessee fans don't always live in reality so this probably seems right for some.
