Kirk Herbstreit names the head coaching job he “can’t imagine anyone wanting”

Has Tennessee hit rock bottom now?

The Tennessee head coaching job is looking more and more like a job people just aren't going to want. After athletic director John Currie backed out of signing Greg Schiano, there has been plenty of backlash and it looks like ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit is chiming in on the matter.

The initial Herbstreit tweet was in response to the report that Tennessee was backing out of the deal and this is his response to Evan Winters who tweeted at him:

This was his answer to a since-deleted tweet and Herbstreit doesn't see a clear end in sight for the Volunteers now.

The fans have made it difficult for Currie to do his job, but he should have stuck to his guns in the hire and explained why he thought it was a good hire. He's never going to please the entire fan base no matter what he does, but owning up to the hiring and saying that due diligence had been done on Schiano's background —- in regards to his time at Penn State with Jerry Sandusky —- would have at least earned him some respect, even if it got him more ire from fans.
