Former Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin may not be out of a job for too long it seems. After getting fired by the Aggies, he is reportedly emerging as the frontrunner for the now-vacant UCF job. Ryan Bass of WTSP in Tampa is reporting (subscription required) that Sumlin and a couple other names are in the running for the Knights head coaching job including Toledo head coach Jason Candle and Ohio State co-offensive coordinator Ryan Day.

There was expected to be a decision made on the hire on Sunday, but nothing has been reported or announced yet. Josh Newberg of 247Sports is reporting that Sumlin might be using UCF as leverage to potentially go after an Oregon job that could open up.
Oregon head coach Willie Taggart has long been rumored to be a favorite by Florida State to replace Jimbo Fisher who is now at Texas A&M. So if Taggart leaves then Sumlin would most likely be interested in the Oregon job since it's a Power-5 position and he could theoretically have a better recruiting talent pool there.
