Team on the rise takes huge hit in recruiting class with 4-star decommit

This wide receiver wants to look elsewhere.

Shocky Jacques-Louis  a 4-star wide receiver from Florida, has decommited from Kentucky and has re-opened his recruitment — though he left the door open that he could return. He made the announcement on Twitter.

First off, I would like to thank the Kentucky Wildcats football program and coaching staff, especially coach Hinshaw for recognizing and believing in me and my athletic ability. Secondly, I would like to thanks #BNN for treating me like family and showing me lots of love through this strenuous recruiting process. After deep conversations with my family and closest associates I feel it would be best to  de-commit from the University of Kentucky. Kentucky fans and personal  have been great to me, and it has nothing to do with that, and at the end of the day if it's meant to be I will still be (a part) of this great program. Please no interviews at this time.

Jacques-Louis is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound receiver in the class of 2018.  He has 26 offers from the biggest names in college football, including  Florida, Florida State and Florida International from his home state. Tennessee, Georgia and Michigan are among those who  have made offers.

But, the 247 crystal ball says it's now 50-50 that Jacques-Louis will either recommit to Kentucky, or join the Texas Longhorns, which has had a spectacular recruiting season. 247 ranks Jacques-Louis as the 48th-best wide receiving prospect in the 2018 recruiting class.
