We have our first head coach firing only four games into the season

It's only four games into the season, but it looks like we have our first coaching casualty of this young college football season. Florida International has parted ways with and dismissed head coach Ron Turner according to a USA Today source. The anonymous source has stayed that way since the decision has not been made public.

Turner was in his fourth season with the Panthers and dropped to 10-30 after a 53-14 loss to in-state rival UCF on Saturday. The Panthers are winless (0-4) this season and just have not been good at all losing games this season by a combined score of 149-54. Turner formerly coached Illinois for eight seasons and even won a Big Ten title in 2001.

Turner's contract was originally good through January of 2018. According to the terms of the contract, FIU will owe him a little more than $700,000 as the buyout. That number is subject to offset if Turner gets another job in either college or pro coaching.
