Josie Muffley has been doing incredible things with the glove for Florida State softball her entire career. There's a reason we've called her the best defensive shortstop in college softball, and tags like this one are why.

At the 2023 Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Muffley did it again. In the Seminoles' game against Washington, the fifth-year senior defied gravity to send FSU one step closer to another WCWS Finals berth.
With one out in the seventh inning, Washington had two runners on down 3-1. Huskies hitter Madison Huskey ripped a ball that looked like a surefire single over Muffley's head, which would've scored at least one. At the last second, Muffley stole it from the air and doubled off the Huskies to end the game.

That's how you climb the ladder.
That Muffley also knew to immediately flip it to second base for the double play made the play that much better. This is just another example of Josie Muffley doing Josie Muffley things.
Muffley's leap made the rounds on social media. It was reminiscent by some fans of Jessie Warren's double play from Florida State's 2018 National Championship, because that too came against Washington.

Muffley even got the attention of Warren, who welcomed her to the "Husky double play club."

Washington has got to be sick of FSU's infielders at this point. If the Seminoles can reach the championship series and win the WCWS, they'll need plenty of more plays like this.
Florida State plays the winner of Oklahoma State-Tennessee on Monday at 7 p.m. ET. A win sends the 'Noles to the WCWS Finals.
