While signing autographs at the US Women's Open, Hull was spotted at the Liberty National Golf Course smoking a cigarette.

Fans reacted to this by comparing Hull to John Daly, as he was known for smoking while playing on the golf course. In particular, Daly's diet consisted of puffing on 21 cigarettes, drinking 12 Diet Cokes (0 ounces of water), and eating six packs of peanut M&M's, which reportedly was his usual consumption for just 18 holes of golf.

Considering that Hull is a world-class athlete, fans find it intriguing that the No. 8 woman's golfer in the world smokes.

Hull turned pro in 2013, at the young age of 16, and right out the gate she dominated. Notably, she won Rookie of the Year, after starting out with five second-place finishes in a row on the Ladies European Tour. Then she has gone on to win six tournaments (2 LPGA Tour; 3 LET; 1 other) and has finished runner up in three majors so far throughout her career, two of which came last year in 2023.

Even though Hull may have a smoking habit, she seemingly is still is in way better shape than her male counterpart, Daly. All in all, fans think she will be just fine, as long as the golfer stays sober while playing on the course.

That is to say, Daly, 58, has claimed that not only did he eat candy, drink soda, never exercise, the 2x major golf championship winner also barely played golf sober, as drinking the night before helped him relax, calming his nerves. He admitted that many times he would be hungover heading into his round of golf. Don't worry though, besides drinking 'Diet' Coke, Daly also drank Miller Lite, which has less calories than other beers so it wasn't too unhealthy.

"I don't think I've ever stepped into a gym, they won't let me smoke there. I just thank God Miller Lite isn't as fattening as most beers. If I cut back on beer, though, I'd look anorexic."
