Michelle Wie West is set to take on a new league. According to series organizers, the former U.S. Women's Open champion will compete in the WGTL, a women's team golf league featuring top players from the LPGA Tour.

She will join a roster of players that already includes Jeeno Thitikul, Charley Hull, Lydia Ko, Lottie Woad, Brooke Henderson, Rose Zhang, and Lexi Thompson.

The WGTL is a new offshoot of the TGL presented by SoFi, which launched in January 2025. This league, created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, streamlines the historic game and puts it in primetime with some updated tech elements.

Six teams representing six different cities go head-to-head in a season-long competition at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida. The teams are Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and the Bay Golf Club.

These teams featuring top players from the PGA TOUR take part in two-hour weekly competitions that air in primetime. ESPN and the ESPN app provide coverage of the events, which include mic'd up players.

Wie West is a limited partner of the Los Angeles team featuring Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Sahith Theegala.

The WTGL has not provided details about the teams that will compete during the inaugural season of the league upon its launch.

"As an investor in Los Angeles Golf Club and a fan of TGL, I'm excited for the chance to compete again through WTGL, which will be a powerful platform for women's golf," Wie West said in a press release.

"I'm passionate about growing the game and TGL has proved how new formats through the lens of innovation and creativity can bring golf to a broader audience. The team aspect, matched with the unique environment at SoFi Center, is something I want to be part of and it's going to be incredibly fun to challenge myself, this time alongside teammates, to compete against the best in the world."
