Scottie Scheffler, the world's No.1 ranked golfer, was detained by Louisville Metro Police, in what was a bizarre turn of events that took place Friday morning. Scheffler was brought in on charges of felony assault on a police officer and reckless driving.

When looking at how it all happened, the golfer was reportedly trying to drive into the entrance at the location for this week's PGA Championship, Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
There was a lot of traffic around the area, because a man had died at 5 am ET outside the golf course, after being hit by a shuttle bus when trying to cross the road.
Scheffler, who maybe was not fully aware of what was happening, tried to navigate his way around the scene onto the median, as he was scheduled for a tee-off time at around 10 am today. That is when police first confronted Scheffler, and told him to stop his vehicle. Yet, the golfer continued a little farther closer to the entrance.
An officer then held on to the side of Scheffler's car, and when the golfer rolled down his window to see what's going on, the officer grabbed him, pulled him out of the car, and put him up against the car, where he was handcuffed.

A police officer was then seen on video telling ESPN reporter, Jeff Darlington, "He's going to jail, and there's nothing you can do about it."
Scheffler, who has since been released from police custody after booking, was allowed to arrive for his Round 2 tee time at 10:08 am. After day one, he is tied for 12th, at -4 strokes.

Notably, Scheffler is at the top of the world rankings, after winning the Masters last month. To point out, the 27-year-old has won four out of the last five tournaments that he has participated in, with the only loss being a runner-up finish, in which he came up one shot short.
When thinking about all of the characters on the PGA Tour, the recent green jacket winner, who just became a father last week and is known for his calm, friendly demeanor, is certainly not who you would suspect to be as the golfer getting locked up. As maybe someone like John Daly would be a more likely candidate.
