More specifically, Scheffler's putt for birdie on the 11th hole — his second of the day — just missed when the ball hung out to the left. Scheffler flipped the putter in anger and said, "Screw these greens, man."

It's been a rough few weeks for Scheffler, beginning with his arrest prior to the PGA Championship, in which he did not fare well.
As the New York Post detailed:
"Hours before he teed off on Thursday, the Louisville Metro Police Department released footage of his arrest from the PGA Championship a week ago.
"The video showed a police officer — Detective Bryan Gillis — chasing down his car as he entered Valhalla Golf Club following a misunderstanding over traffic flow. While he still made his tee time, he faded in the major."
Scheffler's attorney said the video showed that he should be in the clear.
"Scottie Scheffler didn't do anything wrong," attorney Steve Romines, told reporters on Thursday. "We're not interested in settling the case. We will either try it or it will be dismissed. It's very simple. All the evidence that continues to come out just continues to support what Scottie said all along. This was a chaotic situation and miscommunication, and he didn't do anything wrong."
Scheffler, the world's top-ranked golfer, won the Masters in April.
]Scheffler allegedly hit and dragged a police officer as he tried to make his way to the tournament in Louisville. His attorney told ESPN that Scheffler intends to enter a not-guilty plea.
