The golf legend has been granted permission to leave the country as he seeks treatment following his recent DUI arrest in Florida. According to court filings that TMZ obtained, Woods plans to enter a comprehensive inpatient program overseas.

The reason is simple: Privacy.

His attorney, Douglas Duncan, told the court Woods' situation requires a level of care that "cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States," citing repeated breaches of privacy. The concern is that public exposure could disrupt treatment and lead to setbacks.

The judge signed off.

That means Woods is free to travel while his legal case plays out. He's already waived appearances for early hearings, with his next required court date currently scheduled for May.

This comes just days after Woods said he was stepping away from everything to focus on his health.

"I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment," he said in a statement. "This is necessary... to work toward lasting recovery."

The legal situation is still hanging over him.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test following a rollover crash near his Florida home. Deputies said he showed signs of impairment at the scene, though he later blew a 0.000 on a breathalyzer. He admitted to taking prescription medication earlier in the day.

Now the focus shifts. Not to golf, not to court, but to getting right, away from the spotlight.
