Tiger Woods Could Have Hired a Personal Driver, But Here's Why He Didn't

Tiger Woods has options. He's choosing not to use one of them.

After his recent DUI arrest and rollover crash in Florida, Woods has not hired a driver. According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, that decision comes down to control and privacy.

"He doesn't want anyone to watch over him or know what he's doing," the source said. "And he thinks he is fine to drive."

That stance is raising eyebrows, especially given his history.

Woods, 50, was charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test following the crash. Police said he showed signs of impairment at the scene, though alcohol was not detected and he later blew zeroes on a breathalyzer.

The situation adds to a pattern. Woods has been involved in multiple car accidents over the years, including a serious 2021 crash that required surgery and a 2009 incident near his Florida home.

Still, those close to him say he values privacy above all else. He keeps a tight circle, spending most of his time at home with his kids, hitting golf balls, or staying out of the spotlight.

His relationship with Vanessa Trump continues to grow, with insiders saying she fits naturally into his lifestyle.

But the bigger issue isn't his personal life.

It's whether he's willing to adjust. Right now, Woods is sticking to his way of doing things.
