During the fifth inning of the Atlanta Braves' 8-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night, cameras cut to Bally Sports field reporter Wiley Ballard, who appeared to ask a woman for her phone number live on the TV broadcast.

The Braves' sportscaster has now went viral for his interaction with a couple of women fans, who were sitting in the VIP section of the Rogers Centre stadium.
Upon getting encouragement from the broadcasters, who were heard saying, "You have four innings to get the numbers," Ballard told the one woman, who was introduced as Kayla, "So they want me to get your number."
This Braves reporter really got a fan’s number while live on the job 😭

Amid the interaction, the announcers discovered that this may actually be a clever way to pick up girls.
"This is unbelievable, so the best part of this right now is that Wiley could totally be faking it... just walk around with a FanDuel microphone and an earpiece in and convince fans that they are actually on TV."
Ultimately, this move was a success, as Ballard exclaimed, "I should have thought of this years ago."
After showcasing his charisma, the 2024 NSMA Georgia Sportscaster of the Year ended the interview saying, "I got the number, we're good."
And while the reporters were scoring digits in the stands, the Braves were scoring runs on the field, as they notched their fifth win (8-4) of what has been a disappointing season thus far; Atlanta is now 5-11 after coming into the year with the second-best World Series odds.
