The outfielder had to exit the game due to right calf tightness. This followed him hitting a single and running the bases. He did not return as the Mets won 10-3.

The replay showed the moment that Soto experienced an issue. He took off from first base after Bo Bichette's single and then made his way around second to head to third. He grimaced as he turned toward third base and then he hobbled a little as he arrived.

The veteran MLB player was forced out at home plate, which effectively ended his night. The Mets pulled him from the game and put Tyrone Taylor in as a replacement. Soto is now listed as day-to-day as the team prepares to play the Giants again on Saturday evening. This marks the third game of a four-game series.

The Mets said on Friday evening that the outfielder will undergo an MRI on his right calf. This will provide more clarification about the near future.

"There's obviously concern any time you send a player for an MRI, and those areas, the calf area, can be tricky," manager Carlos Mendoza said. "So we've just got to wait."

Soto, who is currently in the second year of his 15-year $765 million contract, has been a constant presence on the diamond since 2018.

He has appeared in at least 100 games in eight of his 10 completed seasons. This includes the COVID-altered 2020 season. He also led the league with 162 appearances in 2023.

The veteran from the Dominican Republic has played in eight games this season. He has posted 11 hits in 31 at-bat appearances while hitting one home run. He has accounted for five RBIs.
