During Saturday's New York vs. Seattle game Mets' pitcher Jacob DeGrom hit Mariners' Mitch Haniger in the face with a 95-mile-per hour fastball. Haniger went down and he was in agony.

While there were no broken bones, now comes word that Haniger was so badly injured he may need plastic surgery to fix the facial lacerations he suffered.

Haniger is headed to the 10-day disabled list.

It's the second time in two days a major league player has been hit by a like drive. Diamondbacks pitcher Robbie Ray was hit was a 105 MPH line drive on Friday and carted off the field. He's under the concussion protocol.
