To note, a second fan also was seen jumping from a lower section onto the field to help the injured guy, as he seemingly was a friend.

All in all, there was approximately 10 minutes of stoppage time. While everyone look shocked at what transpired, multiple players were seen bowing in prayer, as McCutchen held a cross that hung from his neck when the fan was taken off the field.
Ultimately, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials have announced the fall is under investigation, but it seems as this may be a case of an accident influenced by alcohol.
Please stop spreading fake news that the fan at PNC park “jumped” intentionally. He was drunk, got up to celebrate the Pirates hit, and unfortunately fell over. Also the fan is in critical condition with a skull fracture, from Jennifer Borrasso of KDKA. pic.twitter.com/nSAcsNv4uo

Pirates manager Derek Shelton spoke on this incident after the game.
"Even though it's 350 feet away or whatever it is, I mean the fact of how it went down and then laying motionless while the play is going on, I mean Craig [Counsell- Cubs Manager] saw it, I saw it. We both got out there," Shelton said.
"It's extremely unfortunate. That's an understatement."
McCutchen released a statement on X, as he noted he is praying for the injured fan.
"Truly hate what happened tonight," McCutchen wrote. "Cant help but think about that guy, his family and friends. I pray tonight for him. Let us think about his loved ones and hug our families a little tighter tonight. I hope he pulls thru. May God Bless you all. Good night."
Thoughts and prayers for the man and his family.
