The couple announced the news with a post on Instagram. A baby's feet took center stage in one photo while a message of gratitude took up the other.
"We are again overjoyed to experience this wonderful day in our lives together," Ohtani and Mamiko said in a statement.
"Thank you for being born safely. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey."
This marks the second time that Ohtani and Mamiko have welcomed a baby. They previously announced the birth of their daughter in April 2025. They also made this announcement with a photo of baby feet.
"I am so grateful to my loving wife who gave birth to our healthy beautiful daughter," Ohtani wrote in the April 2025 Instagram post. "To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous yet super anxious parents.
"I would also like to thank the Dodgers organization, my teammates, and the fans for their constant support and kind words of encouragement."
Unlike other players who have welcomed babies this season, Ohtani did not head to the paternity list after welcoming his second child with Mamiko. He just missed Friday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.
The slugger returned to the Dodgers' lineup on Saturday for another game against the Orioles. He made a major impact during the ninth inning as his team faced the prospect of a shutout.
Ohtani hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to put the Dodgers on the board. Teammate Freddie Freeman then scored later in the inning. Though the Dodgers still lost 3-2.
The season will now continue for the four-time MVP and the Dodgers. He will aim to keep the team well atop the National League West while pursuing his third World Series title.
