Conor McGregor — the active UFC fighter and biggest superstar in Mixed Martial Arts history — is set to make his movie debut in less than two months' time.
On Thursday morning, McGregor — who had long been rumored to be featured in the highly-anticipated 'Road House' remake, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal — confirmed his inclusion in the blockbuster film by dropping the official trailer on his X account.

In addition to posting the trailer, McGregor wrote, 'Fighting, acting, there's nothing this Mac can't do! While it was assumed that McGregor would appear in 'Road House' — dubbed a, "high-octane, adrenaline-filled reimagining of the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie" — Thursday's trailer made it clear that the Irish icon was cast as its main antagonist, and even squares off in a fight against Gyllenhaal in what appears to be the movie's climax.
Even though 'Road House' will be the first time that McGregor is featured in a major film, the polarizing martial artist is well used to playing the villain. The once two-division UFC champion has been the subject of numerous court cases and other out-of-cage controversies in recent years; including when he sucker-punched an old man inside of an Irish bar back in 2019.
Although McGregor is still on the UFC roster, he hasn't fought for the promotion since 2021, when he suffered two TKO losses against Dustin Poirier; the second of which occurred when McGregor's leg gruesomely snapped in half when throwing a leg kick.
Yet, considering the action sequences that this morning's 'Road House' trailer reveals McGregor taking part in, it's safe to assume his leg is now back to full health.
Perhaps the 'Road House' March 21 release on Amazon Prime can serve as promotion for McGregor's next fight, as he announced on the last day of 2023 via X that he'd be returning to the UFC octagon on June 29th, 2024, in Las Vegas.
While it remains to be seen whether McGregor will actually be making his return on that date, the UFC legend's legion of fans can rest easy knowing they'll get to see him going toe to toe against Gyllenhaal in March.
