Conor McGregor can knock you out in the cage and is now throwing his hat in the ring for Ireland's looming presidential election. At least, that's what he says.

"These charlatans in their positions of power would be summoned to answer to the people of Ireland and I would have it done by day end," he wrote. "Or I would be left with no choice but to dissolve the Dáil entirely.
Well, alrighty then. But as TMZ noted: "McGregor's interest in politics isn't all that surprising — he's been outspoken on a handful of issues in the past — but the timing might be questionable, as he's still expected to fight Michael Chandler at some point in the near future."
McGregor, 35, recently co-starred in a remake of Road House, which was more or less a flop at the box office. He hasn't fought in nearly three years, with his last UFC bout being another loss to Dustin Poirier. McGregor has now been defeated twice in a row by Poirier and broke his leg during the last meeting.
McGregor won his first title in 2015, when he knocked out Jose Aldo in a mere 13 seconds. That landed McGregor the featherweight championship.
He then became the first simultaneous champion in two weight classes when he defeated Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight crown.
McGregor is also widely known for his rivalries with Poirier, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz, as well as for his boxing match with Floyd Meriweather.
