Man tried to rob an MMA gym, which may be the worst mistake anyone can make

This was a terrible idea.

A man attempted to rob an MMA studio in Burbank, California, and he learned quickly that he had made a terrible decision.

According to FoxLA.com, the suspect attempted to rob the Defiant MMA & Fitness Studio in Burbank with a gun some time shortly after 9 p.m. Instructor Jacobe Powell was teaching a student one-on-one with the armed suspect walked in, and Powell said his instincts took over.

"My instincts kicked in, I used my judo training to go ahead and subdue him and got the weapon away from him before the cops arrived," Powell said. "One of my guys here who was training called the police, and I just subdued him until the police showed up."

After seeing the suspect in the video, it looks like he was more than "subdued."

Robbing any place is a terrible idea, but robbing an MMA studio has to be one of the worst. First of all, do MMA gyms even carry that much cash? I wouldn't think so. And it just seems like you're asking to get beat up by the people working there.

The suspect was taken to a hospital after sustaining injuries during the robbery. It was a losing effort all the way around.
