Smotherman (12-6), a bantamweight, stepped off the scale after weighing in at 135.5 pounds, and he began walking unsteadily toward stage right. He then passed out mid-stride and fell face-first onto the floor. He remained down while the cameras quickly moved away.

Smotherman was set to fight Ricky Turcios at UFC 324 on Saturday night, the first event in the Paramount+ deal. However, this particular bout will not happen after the MMA fighter passed out.

The UFC has not provided further details about Smotherman's condition other than a note saying he had a medical condition.

The former Fury FC bantamweight champion has three fights in the UFC. He defeated Jake Hadley by unanimous decision on Oct. 19, 2024. He then lost to Serhiy Sidey and Ricky Simon by unanimous decision last year.

The weigh-ins continued with multiple other fighters experiencing minor issues. Deiveson Figueiredo and Alex Perez both missed their target weights by 2.5 pounds. They will still fight their respective opponents, but they will forfeit 25% of the prize purse.

Figueiredo (138.5 pounds) will face off with Umar Nurmagomedov (136 pounds) in a bantamweight bout. Perez (128.5 pounds) will face off with Charles Johnson (126 pounds).

With weigh-ins complete, the UFC will move forward to Saturday night's event at T-Mobile Arena. The main card will feature high-profile matchups, including the interim lightweight title bout between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.

The card will also feature Sean O'Malley and Song Yadong in a bantamweight bout; Derrick Lewis and Waldo Cortes-Acosta in a heavyweight bout; Natalia Silva and Rose Namajunas in a women's flyweight bout; and Arnold Allen and Jean Silva in a featherweight bout.

The early prelims will begin at 5 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass and Paramount+. The prelims will then take place at 7 p.m. ET on Paramount+. The main card will begin at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount+.

Plans for the subscription service begin at $8.99 per month. An annual plan starts at $89.99 per year.
