Racer Louis O'Regan Passes Away After Manx Grand Prix Crash

During a Manx Grand Prix qualifying race, Louis O'Regan tragically passed away after he crashed his motorbike at Kate's Cottage course, Isle of Man.

Organizers posted a statement Monday morning in honor of the 43-year-old motor biker.

"Louis, an Irishman who lived in Didcot, England, was an experienced competitor at the Manx Grand Prix having made his debut in the 2013 Newcomers A Race, finishing 12th. He recorded his personal best lap speed in the 2019 Junior Race, lapping at an average speed of 114.7mph," the statement read.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to Louis's partner Sarah, his family, loved ones, and friends."

According to officials, O'Regan was riding a MV Agusta F3 bike on Sunday when he wrecked, as he was racing in the qualifying round on the first day of the annual race on the Isle of Man, which sits in the sea between Great Britain and Ireland.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that a participant has died at the Manx Grand Prix. To note, Gary Vines, 33, crashed in the first round last year and lost his life. Then Ian Banbridge, 69, also died in 2023 after crashing into a wall during a race.
