End Of An Era: Skip Bayless Leaving Fox Sports 'Undisputed' Show After 8-Year Run

There were rumors swirling around as of late, that the infamous sport talk host Skip Bayless was going to part ways with Fox Sports Network's show 'Undisputed.' That is to say, despite not mentioning anything during his last aired broadcast, Bayless took to social media after the show to confirm the news.

Bayless posted on X confirming that today was indeed his last show despite no mention of it on air.

"Today was my last show on Undisputed," Bayless said. "I'm leaving FS1. I've been planning to pursue other opportunities for several months.

"I had a great 8-year run with a lot of great people at FOX, but now I'm excited for what's coming up. Stay tuned."

In what was seemingly a silent departure, as reported by the New York Post, it was already rumored earlier by former FS1 TV personality Marcellus Wiley, that Friday was going to be the last show.

"I was given information that (Friday) will be Skip Bayless's last day on FS1," Wiley, who previously worked at the network, said on his podcast.

"What's interesting about this departure is, other than the news, the headlines, how anti-climactic it is in terms of nothing publicly has been said by Skip Bayless," the ex-NFL player said. "Nothing making headlines. And frankly, internally, a lot of people in the building are saying, 'We're not talking about it either.' Maybe that's by design, or maybe that's by residue."

All in all, many saw the writing on the wall as viewership went way down ever since former co-host, NFL Hall of Fame tight end, Shannon Sharpe left the show last year after some heated debates evidently spilled over into affecting the duo's work relationship.

As Bayless and his loud opinions are moving onto the next chapter, many reminisce on the days of Skip vs. Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's First Take.

Stephen A. talked about the situation on his own show.

"First of all, I hope Skip Bayless' career is not over. But the first thing I would say, if it is over (I don't think it is as I think he will land some place), why can't we respect the fact that the brother is 73 years old... ladies and gentleman, how many of us will have a national television show at the age of 73?"

With this in mind, he shutdown any hope of ever working with his old counterpart again.

"Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith together as partners, working across from each other on a debate show is over."

No matter one's opinion on Bayless' opinions, he has been a fixture in sports talk shows for the last two decades, and will be remembered for many of his outlandish claims.
