After firing GM, Cavs reportedly couldn't even lure in favored replacement

The Cavs are going to have a hard time getting a win off the court it seems.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are not having one of the better offseasons in recent memory as they've fired their general manager after a three-year Finals run and haven't been able to find a replacement in almost a month. There were talks about potentially signing former Nuggets and Pistons star Chauncey Billups, but it seems those have fallen through:

And it looks like it came down to getting paid. However, it wasn't quite a war:

Billups has been an analyst for ESPN since 2014 and has appeared on several of its shows including The Jump and NBA Countdown that's hosted by Michelle Beadle. It says a lot about the Cavs that they can't reel in a guy with no front office experience and who has been trying to get into that position since retiring.
