According to NBC4 Los Angeles, Zaire has been charged with a felony domestic violence-related charge. The outlet obtained a copy of the criminal complaint, which said that Zaire "willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition" on a woman with whom he had a dating relationship.

The former basketball player and reality show personality was placed under arrest on June 21. The Burbank Police Department responded to reports of a woman screaming. They arrived at the home at approximately 5:30 p.m. and spoke to both parties involved in the alleged domestic violence incident.

The Burbank Police Department ultimately arrested Zaire and charged him with felony domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment. Authorities also issued an emergency protective order and removed a handgun from the home.

Zaire paid $50,000 bond before being released from custody.

The criminal complaint said that Zaire is accused of "great violence, great bodily harm, threat of great bodily harm, and other acts disclosing a high degree of cruelty, viciousness, and callousness."

Paramedics also responded to the 911 call. They checked on the woman, who reportedly had lacerations on her face and body. They did not transport her to the hospital.

NBC 4 Los Angeles reported at the time that the case would be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for possible charges.

Zaire played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School. He then moved to the professional ranks and spent one season with the Salt Lake City Stars, the G-League affiliate of the Utah Jazz. He played in 12 games, starting one, while averaging 18.7 minutes played, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 points.

Zaire also spent time playing basketball professionally overseas. He suited up for the Cape Town Tigers.
