Exit 30 on Interstate 77, which leads into Davidson, North Carolina, will now have the name of the Stephen Curry Interchange.

The Golden State Warriors headed to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday to prepare for a game against the Charlotte Hornets. Curry, who attended college in nearby Davidson, visited his former stomping grounds to take part in a game and a special unveiling ceremony.

"This is my forever home," Curry said during the ceremony, which multiple Warriors teammates attended. "For me to be able to represent so many people that made this possible, I hope that that's what they feel.

"A diploma is one thing. An elite achievement is another thing. This (sign) is another. I might be stealing the sign to take it home."

Curry spent three seasons at Davidson College before heading to the NBA (2007-2009). It was during this tenure that he showed his skills from the three-point line. He led the Southern Conference in successful three pointers as both a freshman and a sophomore.

The Charlotte native earned nearly two dozen awards as a member of the Davidson roster, including Southern Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior. He also became a consensus All-American.

Curry landed with the Golden State Warriors as the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and he has remained with the Bay Area team ever since while continuing to achieve considerable success. He is an 11-time All-Star, a two-time MVP, a two-time scoring champion, a Finals MVP, and a four-time NBA Champion.

Davidson College has found multiple ways to honor Curry since his departure for the NBA. The university has retired his No. 30 jersey, inducted him into the team's Hall of Fame, and named him assistant general manager of the college's basketball programs.
