That is, per TMZ, a speeding violation turned into a DWI arrest.
"Adrian was pulled over at 3:20 AM in an Audi Q5... after a state trooper says they saw AP speeding, going 83 in a 55 MPH zone. The cop suspected Peterson, 40, was drunk... and when the future Hall of Famer ultimately submitted a breath sample on the scene, he blew a .14."
This led to AP being booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a 4th-degree DWI charge.
He took a mugshot before he was later released.

Notably, this was a big turn of events for the former NFL MVP, as he was just introduced hours earlier as a featured guest for the Vikings draft day event that took place at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Unfortunately, Peterson has certainly had his fair share of off-the-field issues, that include: pleading no contest to misdemeanor child-abuse charges (2014), being arrested for domestic violence which allegedly took place on a plane in 2022, (charges were later dropped). Not to mention, Peterson also has defaulted on several loans over the years (up to $8.3 million).
Even so, the 7x Pro Bowler is set to be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027, and when looking at his NFL accolades, he appears to be a shoe-in.
Over 15 seasons in the league, Peterson rushed for 14,918 yards (5th all-time) and accumulated 120 touchdowns (4th all-time).
