The city of Cleveland has no love for the Baltimore Ravens. This distaste will only increase in Week 2 of the NFL season as the Ravens break out a throwback logo.

According to an announcement from the AFC North team, they will use the old-school Ravens logos that debuted during the 1996 season. This will happen during a 30th season celebration.
What is the problem for some NFL fans? This throwback event will take place the same time that the Cleveland Browns come to town. The Ravens previously called Cleveland home until a stunning decision in 1995.
Owner Art Modell announced in November 1995 that he would take the Browns out of Cleveland and move them to Baltimore only one season after the team went 11-5.

This news did not lead to a particularly good season as the Browns ended the season 5-11 and last in the AFC Central. The Browns fired head coach Bill Belichick and moved to Baltimore to become the Ravens. The 1996 season marked their first in the NFL, as well as the first appearance of the new logo.
The city of Cleveland did not have an NFL franchise until the 1999 season when the Browns returned. The fans had to sit and watch as the Ravens took root in Baltimore and became a contender. The knife cut deeper with the 2000 season as the Ravens won the Super Bowl by beating the Giants.
The Ravens have remained a championship contender in the seasons since relocating. The team has made 16 playoff appearances and won the Lombardi Trophy two times.
The Browns, for comparison, have struggled since returning in 1999. The revived team has only made three playoff appearances. They haven't won the AFC North, nor have they reached the AFC Championship.
The team has also featured more than three dozen quarterbacks under center and 12 coaches on the sidelines, including two interim.
The two teams will now meet for the first time this season as they each try to recover from an 0-1 start. The battle for a crucial AFC North win will remain the focus for the players, but this celebration will be an extra twist of the knife for the Cleveland faithful as they look at the old school logo.
