"After much contemplation, I have decided to share a proper farewell as I navigate retirement," Chark wrote on Instagram. "My journey began at the age of 7 when I signed up for football, unaware of the profound impact it would have on my life. I simply loved the sport and had the unwavering support of my parents. Years later I received the support of my wife, kids, family and thousands of fans!
"As I write this I reflect on the challenges I've faced and overcome, as well as the rewards I've reaped. I've learned to appreciate every experience and not take any of them for granted. As I enter this next chapter of my life, I remain committed to being an active pillar in my community, empowering the youth through charitable work."
A former second-round pick out of LSU, Chark entered the NFL in 2018. He landed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team with which he spent his first four seasons and achieved the most success.
Chark appeared in 43 games, starting 30, during his tenure with the Jaguars. He caught 147 passes for 2,042 yards and 15 touchdowns. He earned one trip to the Pro Bowl in 2019 after posting a 1,000-yard season and catching eight touchdowns.
The former LSU receiver closed out his career with one season in Detroit, one season in Carolina, and one season in Los Angeles (Chargers). He never broke the 1,000-yard mark again, but he caught nine more touchdown passes.
He then spent the 2025 season as a free agent before announcing his retirement. Now, Chark will move into the next chapter of his life.
"The possibilities ahead are endless, and that excites me," he added on social media. "I am grateful for all my teammates, fans, and every organization I have had the privilege to play for. All glory goes to God, I am forever thankful."
