This teaser for "Madden" provided the first true look at actor Nicholas Cage in the role of the former head coach-turned-broadcaster. The 30-second clip started by showing him walking out onto a football field at night before quickly shifting to several glimpses of key characters and moments.
This teaser trailer showed Christian Bale in the role of late Raiders owner Al Davis, John Mulaney as video game developer Trip Hawkins, and Joel Murray as Pat Summerall. It showed comedian Shane Gillis decked out in Raiders gear and sitting in the stands.

"There is only one John Madden," Bale's version of Davis said while serving as the narrator. "They didn't make another one. He is one of a kind. Football wouldn't be football without him."
Football fans also finally heard Cage speak as Madden for the first time. The teaser ended with a clip of him in the broadcast booth, scribbling all over a whiteboard while Murray's version of Summerall stood by. He then ended the teaser by yelling "Boom" as Madden did so many times throughout his career.
According to the trailer, this movie about one of the most popular figures in NFL history will arrive sometime around Thanksgiving 2026.
The brief trailer primarily showed Cage in the role of NFL head coach and CBS Sports analyst. Yet, the film will cover so much more. The IMDB synopsis notes that the film is about the creation of the "Madden" football video game series, which has gone on to become a juggernaut in the industry.
This is why Mulaney shows up as Hawkins, the founder of Electronic Arts. The teaser also shows a tiny glimpse of the video game at the very end while confirming this part of the plot.
