Andy Reid addresses Tyreek Hill rumors and potential Chiefs return

Tyreek Hill is available. He is training in Kansas City. And the Chiefs could clearly use another spark on offense.

That is how rumors get legs.

Hill has posted workout clips from Kansas City, immediately lighting up speculation about a reunion with the Chiefs. Add in the return of Eric Bieniemy to the offensive coordinator role, and the dots feel easy to connect.

Not so fast, says coach Andy Reid.

Reid addressed the chatter Friday and made it clear there is no momentum behind a deal, at least right now. He noted that general manager Brett Veach evaluates everyone, but stressed that Hill's health remains the biggest question.

Hill is coming off a torn ACL suffered in Week Four, an injury that ended his season early. Before going down, he caught 21 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown. Productive, yes. Enough to erase injury concerns, no.

Still, the history is obvious. Hill was a cornerstone of Kansas City's rise, earning two first team All-Pro selections with the franchise and becoming one of the most-feared weapons in football. In six seasons, he totaled 6,630 receiving yards and 56 touchdowns, then delivered again in the postseason on the way to a Super Bowl title.

Reid did not shut the door. He just refused to open it.

Hill is working. The Chiefs are watching. That is all this is for now.
