Bills GM offers some strong language for haters of Joe Brady coaching hire

Brandon Beane doesn't care what you think about the Bills promoting Joe Brady. And he's not pretending to.

"F—k the outside," Buffalo's GM and now president of football ops told Go Long. "It's about the right selection for this team... If I'm wrong, I'll f—king take my job and f—king go home."

That's one way to quiet the noise.

The Bills caught plenty of heat for elevating Brady to head coach after another brutal playoff exit — this time in overtime against the Broncos. That loss sealed Sean McDermott's fate after nine seasons and reignited the "Is Josh Allen wasting his prime?" panic across Buffalo.

Beane says he's heard it all before. He compared the Brady move to when he took Allen in the first place. Back then, he caught hell too.

"If we win, they'll love it," he said. "If we don't, they'll move me out."

Joe Brady, 36, officially took over as head coach last Thursday. He's been with the Bills since 2022 and has run the offense full-time since 2024. He's got Allen's full support, and that mattered. A lot.

Team owner Terry Pegula even cited Allen's emotional reaction to the McDermott firing in his own chaotic press conference last month. The front office also kicked the tires on Brian Daboll, Anthony Lynn, and even had a sit-down with Philip Rivers, who pulled out of the process.

But Beane followed his gut. And his gut said Brady.

"I don't want to be wrong and watch him go succeed somewhere else," Beane said. "It's not about winning the press conference. It's about winning games."
