Getting drafted into the NFL is every college player's dream, but for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the salary isn't allowing him to live in a multi-million dollar mansion just yet. Instead, he has a roommate.

Appearing on the TODAY YouTube Channel, Purdy, an Iowa State alum, was asked, "What is the reality for Brock Purdy at home?"
"So I still have a roommate, one of the offensive lineman here. So he and I are splitting rent. I still drive, you know, my Toyota Sequoia. And other than that, it's pretty simple.
Known as Mr. Irrelevant, Purdy is in the midst of a four-year contract worth $3,737,008, per Spotrac.
This is certainly a healthy yearly salary at $870,000 this season, but living in the San Francisco area can add up quickly, so having a roommate and driving his "modest" Sequoia might be the best move until he gets his massive second contract.
It's not confirmed who his roommate is, but Purdy, 23, recently got engaged to his then-girlfriend and now-fiance Jenna Brandy in July.
Before they tie the knot and start living together, it appears the 49ers starting quarterback is saving his money.
Set to be a free agent in 2026, it's safe to assume we can expect Purdy to get a healthy second contract.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who's performing far worse than season than Purdy, is receiving $40 million per season. It's only a matter of time before Purdy gets his second deal that could be worth even more than that. With the way Purdy is performing and how much quarterbacks are making in the NFL right now, the 49ers quarterback could be expecting a potential nine-figure deal.
The 49ers are 4-0 this season and head into Sunday Night Football in Week 5 to take on the Dallas Cowboys.
