Cincinnati Bengals take a chance on signing QB Terrelle Pryor

The Cincinnati Bengals locked up starting quarterback Andy Dalton to a $100 million contract prior to last season, but they are still looking to add talent at the quarterback position behind him. Yesterday, the Bengals signed the former Ohio State star Terrelle Pryor to join backups A.J. McCarron and Josh Johnson in camp this year.

Pryor was signed after impressing the team during a workout in rookie minicamp and said he would not be looking to change positions, according to NFL.com.

"If I can't play quarterback, I can't play football," he said before his tryout.

Pryor spent part of last year in Seattle before getting cut and was released by the Chiefs this offseason less than four months after signing with Kansas City. Pryor, who was a third round pick of the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 Supplemental Draft, appeared 15 games in Oakland — 10 starts — where he had nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions on a 56.3% completion percentage.

Pryor famously left Ohio State after selling memorabilia and receiving free tattoos from a Columbus tattoo parlor, which is why he was selected in the Supplemental Draft and not the regular NFL Draft in April.
