The Davante Adams Saga Takes Another Weird Turn as Antonio Pierce 'Likes' a Questionable Post

The Davante Adams trade rumors are heating up on Monday night as a subtle action from Las Vegas head coach, Antonio Pierce, adds more fuel to the fire.

Sports Illustrated was the first to catch word that Pierce was seen 'liking' a questionable Instagram post of theirs that had a photo of the star receiver with the caption, "Davante Adams is likely to be gone if the Raiders get what they want in a trade."

There, under the 'likes' section, read the account name "antoniopierce" and with it, began even more rumors that Adams' time out west may be nearing its end.

Ahead of the Raiders' Week 4 game, it had come out that Adams would be held out of the game with an injury. Later on in the day, ESPN reported that his hamstring injury will have " "multiple week-to-week." Due to the Raiders' struggles and Adams reported desire to compete for a Super Bowl - along with a host of injuries around the league spearheaded by Kansas City's devastating loss of Rashee Rice - it quickly began to circulate that the former Green Bay Packer could be on the move.

Adam Schefter attempted to shut down rumors on Monday. Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show," Schefty said he doesn't see the team moving on from Adams, adding that the team received "multiple inquiries" over the offseason about a possible Adams trade but never bit.

In the absence of Adams, the Raiders actually stayed afloat; in fact, they came out victorious over the struggling Cleveland Browns to move to 2-2. Ahead of the game, Pierce said that the team would make it work in Adams' absence, "Nobody needs to be Davante Adams. I don't need another Davante, there's only one, right?"

We'll see just how true that statement is because, at this point, it's beginning to look like there will only ever be one Davante Adams in Vegas, and it won't be for much longer.

Adams joined the Raiders in 2022 after spending his first eight years in Green Bay. He has had more than 1,100 yards in each of his first two years in Sin City. He also caught a league-best 14 scores in his first season in the silver and black.
