Jerry Jones' Countersuit Trial Comes To An End After Agreement Is Reached With Woman Who Claims To Be The Cowboys Owner's Daughter

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been dealing with an ongoing case with a woman who has testified that he is her father. In view of this, 27-year-old Alexandra Davis started a legal battle with Jones after filing a parentage-action suit in 2022.

To give background, according to the first lawsuit Alexandra claimed that her mother Cynthia, who was also married at the time (1995), was "pursued" by Jones, which led to them having an encounter while she was working as a ticket counter for American Airlines in Little Rock, Arkansas.

That is to say, Davis also later sued for defamation after she felt Jones depicted her as an 'extortionist,' in which the case was later dropped.

Then in response, the 81-year-old billionaire countered with a breach-of-contract lawsuit. This had to deal with a paternity-related contract Jones had Davis' mother Cynthia (Davis) sign back in 1998, which was evidently supposed to cover-up the news from reaching the public.

Their original "Agreement" reportedly called for Jones to pay Cynthia Davis $375k and for Alexandra to be given a certain monthly/annual fund from a trust until she reached 21 years of age, not to mention, it was also specified she would receive lump payments when she turned 24, 26 and 28.

Since the contract had seemingly been violated, Jones took this matter back to court, however the trial proceedings didn't last long, as it abruptly ended in a settlement on Tuesday. Outside the courtroom during the end of the break, Alexandra, Cynthia, and Jones were all seen huddled together after they had lunch. The settlement agreement was made shortly after that, according to Jones' attorney Chip Babcock.

All in all, when speaking with reporters outside the courthouse, Jones said he was pleased with how it all turned out.

"I'm happy this case is resolved," he said.

While Cynthia also spoke about being satisfied with the results.

"Makes me really happy," said Cynthia Davis. "I'll make a prediction. They win the Super Bowl this year."

In regards to the fact of whether Alexandra is really the biological daughter of Jones, Davis' attorney made a statement on the matter, insinuating that the NFL owner is only trying to defend his name, while not admitting the truth. The attorney was quoted as saying, this was "a very Jones thing to do."

"He knows he's the real father, but now he's vindictive because his real family has been hurt," Gray stated. This is in reference to Jones not wanting the public to know about his daughter with Davis, from the mid-90's, while he was with his current wife Eugenia.

Jones' stance through this all, is that he is claiming his innocence, while also giving the narrative that Alexandra just wants money. As there was a story released about a time in 2017, when Jones' friend/attorney Donald Jack was having dinner with Alexandra, where at one point she allegedly handed him a note asking for $20 million. This led to Jack calling her an "extortionist" in an ESPN article.

From Davis' point of view she denies that was her intention, as all she wanted was to meet her father "for 15 minutes." Alexandra talked about how at the time she was undergoing chemotherapy and her therapist told her this note could help her vent.

"I have been falsely accused of a 'shakedown' and 'extortion," she said while filing a defamation lawsuit. "In reality, I am a daughter who simply wants to acknowledge her father without fear of retribution. I will not stand by and let my father's actions or words define me or my future."

As reported by CBS, "Jones claims he paid more than $3 million which included the lump sums and monthly payments, as well as parties, clothing, a Range Rover, education, international trips and apartment rent as part of the agreement."

Even with all of that, Jones still has repeatedly denied that she was his daughter. Nevertheless, according to the mother-daughter and their attorneys, Jones actually was caught saying that he had two daughters while attending a Cowboys Club Christmas party in 2019. Apparently, Jones told Cynthia's friend that he had two daughters, one being Alexandra, and the other being (now 57-year-old) Charlotte Jones, and he loved them both the same.

Cynthia was emotional talking about Jones' relationship with her daughter Alexandra amid the trial Monday, "He doesn't mean it. He's never gonna talk to her."

Ultimately, all cases involving both parties have been dropped, which means Jones will now put his focus on the upcoming 2024 NFL season. With this in mind, Jones may have some other worries, as the Cowboys have their own issues to work out, since superstar WR CeeDee Lamb has not reported to training camp amid contract disputes.
