According to Front Office Sports, sources say that Buck is closing in on a deal to host ESPN Jeopardy! This spin-off series would take a different approach than the standard trivia show in that it would not feature everyday citizens.

FOS reports that the expectation is that celebrity participants would field questions on ESPN Jeopardy!, including other members of the ESPN lineup. The long-running sports channel has a deep bench, especially after acquiring NFL Network.

Sources told FOS that this spin-off trivia series would air on Hulu and Disney+ with a possibility of landing on ABC. ESPN's streaming platforms are also a possibility, per this report.

The trivia series has previously showcased a spin-off. Dan Patrick hosted Sports Jeopardy! from Sept. 2014 until Dec. 2016. He asked questions for 116 episodes, first on Crackle and then on NBCSN.

Buck, a member of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, is no stranger to television work. He spent nearly 30 years working for Fox Sports while calling NFL games and MLB series. He did play-by-play for countless games across both sports, including six Super Bowls and 23 World Series.

Buck moved to ESPN after the 2021 season along with long-time booth partner Troy Aikman. They took over the Monday Night Football broadcast and have remained in this position since while focusing primarily on football. He and Aikman will call the Super Bowl together once again in February 2027 to close out the 2026 season.

The veteran broadcaster has also dipped his toes into the trivia world. He spent the week of Aug. 9, 2021, hosting Jeopardy! after the death of longtime host Alex Trebek. He followed fellow guest hosts LeVar Burton, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings, Anderson Cooper, actress Mayim Bialik, and CNBC host David Faber.
