Tony Romo, a former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys who now works for CBS Sports, has been arrested on a traffic-related charge.

According to Fox 6 Milwaukee, Romo was arrested on Thursday, July 23, in Milwaukee. He faces a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI).
Per the news station, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says that Romo was stopped while traveling southbound on I-43. He was taken into custody after "performing poorly" in field sobriety tests.

This is his first offense, and he has a court date set for Sept. 21. This is the same day that the Giants and Rams close out Week 2 of the NFL season with a Monday Night Football matchup.
Romo, 46, started his NFL career quietly after entering the league as an undrafted free agent. He only appeared in six games as a rookie in 2004, but he quickly began making an impact for the Dallas Cowboys.
Romo became the full-time starter in 2006, and he earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL with 8.6 yards per passing attempt.
He remained the starter through the 2015 season while earning three more trips to the Pro Bowl. Although he missed 10 games in 2010 after suffering a broken left clavicle. He also missed 12 games in 2015 due to a broken left collarbone.
His tenure with the team came to an end after another injury in 2016. He only played in one game due to a back injury, which opened up the opportunity for rookie Dak Prescott to take over moving forward. Romo then retired from the NFL in early 2017.
The former Eastern Illinois quarterback spent his entire 13-year career with the Cowboys. He went 78-49 as a starter in the regular season and 2-4 in the playoffs. He threw for 34,183 yards with 248 touchdowns and 117 interceptions. His 248 touchdowns are the most in team history.
Once he retired, he moved immediately into the next chapter of his career. He signed on with CBS Sports to be a color analyst alongside play-by-play man Jim Nantz. He has remained in this role ever since.
