According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Micah Parsons sustained a high ankle sprain during Thursday night's win over the New York Giants. Demarcus Lawrence, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, sustained a foot injury during the NFC East game.

"I just iced it," Parsons said about the injury that took him out of the game in the fourth quarter. "I know very little. I've got an MRI (Friday). I'm going to try to get back next week."

How long Parsons remains out is yet to be determined. The expectation is that Lawrence will miss multiple weeks as he continues to recover.

"It's just a sprained foot, but I'll be fine," Lawrence said, per the Cowboys. "We will use these (10 days of rest) to get ready for another big game in Pittsburgh next week."

Since the Cowboys played on Thursday night, the team has a full 10 days before the next game. Parsons and Lawrence will have time to start their recovery as the team prepares to play the Steelers. The Cowboys then play the Lions in Week 6 before a Bye in Week 7.

These injuries hit the Cowboys as the team sits at 2-2 and in third place in the NFC East. The Eagles and Commanders are both 2-1 with games yet to play in Week 4.

Parsons, who topped 13 sacks in each of his first three pro seasons, has one sack this season. He has 14 combined tackles and six quarterback hits.

Lawrence, now in his 11th season in Dallas, has three sacks through the first four weeks of the season. He also has one forced fumble, 14 combined tackles, and five quarterback hits.

With both Parsons and Lawrence out for potentially multiple weeks with these injuries, the Cowboys will have to turn to other defensive options against the Steelers and Lions. Marshawn Kneeland and Chauncey Golston will likely see more snaps as the Cowboys try to take a winning record into the Bye week.
