After several marquee NFL signal callers such as Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Daniel Jones, Tua Tagovailoa, and others passed on the opportunity to have every waking moment of their lives documented for the entire 2023 season, Los Angles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be the first player to agree to appear on the series, according to Jake Ellenbogen.

Stafford makes for a compelling character, not only because of his wife Kelly's previous cancer battles and their dedicated family life, but also because the 35-year-old has been the subject of swirling trade rumors since the offseason and there is mounting pressure for the Rams to make a run at a second Super Bowl ring with an aging core this season.
The former no. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Stafford begins his 13th NFL season having completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 52,416 yards with 333 touchdowns to 169 interceptions.
Season one of 'Quarterback' chronicled the season of eventual MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Super Bowl MVP Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, and journeyman former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Marcus Mariota.
Similar to Netflix hits such as 'Drive to Survive', which follows the F1 circuit and 'Full Swing' that gives unprecedented access inside the ropes of the PGA Tour, 'Quarterback' quickly garnered acclaim from NFL diehards and casual fans because of both the humanizing element of the players but also some of the noteworthy developments from the season — a previously unrevealed Cousins injury that were highlighted during the eight episode season.
Stafford's season is already off to a fast start, on the field, leading the Los Angeles Rams to a dominant 30-13 victory over the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks, 30-13. Stafford opened his 2023 campaign by passing for 334 yards against Seattle. Now, viewers will get an unprecedented look into his life during the season.
