According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers have traded Wicks to the Eagles ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. They will receive a 2026 fifth-round pick, which originally belonged to the Falcons, as well as a 2027 sixth-round pick in return.

The Eagles will also award Wicks with a one-year contract extension worth $12.5 million. The wide receiver was set to play on the final year of his four-year rookie deal, which would have made him a free agent after the 2026 season.

A fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wicks has appeared in 46 regular-season games for the Packers. He has posted 108 receptions for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns while playing in a crowded receiver room.

Wicks delivered his best numbers as a rookie for the Packers. He caught a career-high 39 passes for 581 yards and four touchdowns. He caught 67.2% of the passes thrown in his direction.

Wicks is the second receiver to depart the Packers after the 2025 season, which ended with a wild-card loss to the rival Bears. Romeo Doubs headed to the Patriots as a free agent.

Now, the Packers have a wide receiver room currently consisting of Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jayden Reed, Skyy Moore, Bo Melton, and Savion Williams.

The Eagles now have an opportunity to make a long-rumored move. A possibility exists that the Eagles will trade receiver AJ Brown, a man who at times expressed frustration with his role in the offense.

The belief is that this move would take place after the NFL Draft and after June 1 so that the Eagles could split up the cap hit. Additionally, a trade after the 2026 NFL Draft could help the Eagles acquire picks in the 2027 NFL Draft.
