Katie Hoofnagle, Darnold's wife, announced the news on her Instagram Stories. She posted a photo of the wedding ring and confirmed that they had exchanged vows. "I have a husband now, btw," she wrote.

The ceremony featured some special guests, according to PEOPLE and the outlet's sources. This group included San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen and his wife Hailee Steinfeld attended the ceremony days after welcoming their first child together, which Steinfeld recently announced on her Substack page.

Darnold and Hoofnagle went Instagram official back in April 2023. She posted a series of photos and videos along with the caption of "Happy little moments." The first photo in this post featured her and Darnold posing together.

The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback then proposed in July 2025, four months after signing a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. He popped the question at Dana Point, California, and then they took part in a beach photo shoot.

The happy couple experienced a whirlwind season in 2025, which featured the Seattle Seahawks going 14-3 and winning the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The team then defeated the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in the NFC playoffs before taking out the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.

Interestingly, Darnold had his upcoming wedding on his mind while celebrating the biggest win of his NFL career.

"We've got about a month until the wedding," Darnold said in a video posted by the NFL. "I was just telling Maria Taylor, the one who interviewed me, I was like, yeah, is it weird that I'm thinking about the wedding right now and that it's in a month?

"And I'm like, frickin... I'm excited, but also just, it's a lot, we got a lot to do. But, it's exciting stuff."
