One team in desperate need of a QB still won't even discuss Colin Kaepernick

Wow.

Colin Kaepernick is one of many players trying to endure free agency right now as the NFL Draft nears. He could be a solid starter for a few teams in desperate need of a proven commodity at the position —- he did lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl —- like the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and even the San Francisco 49ers.

However, the 49ers have made it clear that they do not want to bring him back as a free agent and are looking for a new QB in the draft to completely start over. The Jets have gone out and signed Josh McCown to be their starter, but the Browns are still looking for someone to take over as the starting QB. It seems that they won't be discussing Kaepernick at all though. This quote comes from coach Hue Jackson:

"We haven't really discussed Colin. There's other players at this point that we've had a lot of conversations about to see if we can put them on our team. Not saying it won't come up later on. You have to exhaust everything. But at this point he hasn't come up."

However, Jackson did go on to say that he originally wanted to draft Kaepernick in 2011 when he was with the Oakland Raiders. While that doesn't quite close the door on bringing him in, it doesn't exactly swing it wide open either. While Kaepernick's TD-INT ratio is better than 2:1, teams are still hesitant to sign him because of his stance on the American Anthem and his kneeling during it over the course of the season.
