Packers Player Arrested on Multiple Charges After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been arrested on multiple charges after an alleged domestic violence incident in Brown County (Wisconsin).

According to the scant information provided, Jacobs faces a felony charge of strangulation, as well as four misdemeanor counts of assault, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim. He was booked into Brown County Jail Tuesday night on $1,350 bond.

"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," a statement from attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

"We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."

According to a press release from the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department, the incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, May 23. The release did not provide many details.

The Green Bay Packers said in a statement that the team is aware of a legal matter involving Jacobs. The team will not have any comment on the matter as this is an ongoing process.

Jacobs, who spent his college career at the University of Alabama, joined the Packers ahead of the 2024 season. He has started all 32 games for which he has been available, and he has rushed for 2,258 yards with 28 touchdowns. He earned one trip to the Pro Bowl in 2024.

Jacobs began his NFL career as a draft pick of the Raiders. He spent five seasons in the Silver and Black while rushing for at least 1,000 yards three times. He earned two trips to the Pro Bowl.

Jacobs' best season took place in 2022. He led the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards and 93 first downs. He scored 12 rushing touchdowns and led the NFL with 97.2 yards per game. He also led the NFL with 2,053 yards from scrimmage while earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
