Shedeur Sanders made history in his Browns debut on Sunday, and one high-profile viewer was not the least bit surprised.

President Donald Trump jumped on Truth Social to praise the rookie after Cleveland's 24-10 win over the Raiders, saying he had been right all along about Deion Sanders' son.
"Shedeur Sanders was GREAT," Trump posted. "Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO."
Sanders became the first Browns rookie quarterback to win his first NFL start since 1995. He went 11-of-20 for 209 yards with one touchdown and one interception, highlighted by a deep-ball strike to rookie wideout Isaiah Bond that went for more than 50 yards and had Coach Prime celebrating in the Allegiant Stadium stands.

Sanders' touchdown came on a 66-yard screen to running back Dylan Sampson.
Trump has been on the Shedeur bandwagon for a while. Before the 2025 NFL Draft, he publicly scolded teams for not considering Sanders in the first round, asking whether owners were "stupid" for passing on the Hall of Famer's son.
"He should be picked immediately by a team that wants to win," Trump said at the time. Sanders ultimately slipped to the fifth round.
The Browns are not complaining now. Sanders became the first rookie in 30 years to deliver a win in his debut, and coach Kevin Stefanski has already announced he will start again in Week 13 against the 49ers for his first home appearance.
Sanders said after the game that he felt good and expects to keep improving with more preparation.
And as for Trump, well, if he ever gets bored after politics, maybe he will try his hand in an NFL draft room.
