The Taylor Swift-to-Super Bowl rumors are back, and this time the chatter came straight from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

During an appearance Wednesday on NBC's "Today" show, Goodell was asked about the newly engaged pop superstar potentially headlining the halftime show in Santa Clara next February. He didn't shut it down.
"We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time," Goodell said. When pressed if a performance is actually "in the works," he offered only, "I can't tell you anything about that," before adding it's a "maybe."
Goodell's comments come a week after Swift, 35, announced her engagement to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Since going public with their relationship in 2023, she has been a fixture at Chiefs games, including their past two Super Bowl runs.
She recently wrapped her record-breaking Eras Tour and is preparing to release her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Oct. 3 — a date she revealed on Kelce's "New Heights" podcast.
Super Bowl 2026 will be played Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, Calif. The halftime slot has been filled by major acts in recent years, including Kendrick Lamar in New Orleans last February, when the Eagles beat Kelce's Chiefs 40-22.
The Chiefs open their season Friday in Brazil against the Chargers. Kelce, now in his 13th year, will once again be central to Kansas City's push for another title.
