The man was taken into custody near the University at Buffalo's North Campus by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and is being transported back to New York City to face charges in the Nov. 16 shooting. Boyd, 29, was struck in the stomach outside Sei Less — a trendy Asian-fusion spot in Manhattan that often attracts celebrities and athletes.

Boyd had been out with Jets teammates Jamien Sherwood and Irvin Charles when a group outside the restaurant reportedly began mocking their outfits. The players decided to leave after sensing a bad "vibe" inside, sources said, but a street altercation broke out as they walked away.

Moments later, shots were fired. One round hit Boyd, who was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and listed in critical but stable condition. Police say no one in the Jets group was armed.

A chaotic street video posted to X shows punches being thrown before two gunshots send the crowd scattering.

The suspect has a history with police, carrying four prior arrests — most of them sealed — including earlier charges for unlawful possession of personal identification and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also arrested as an adolescent offender in 2024 for reckless endangerment and had a sealed juvenile robbery case from 2018.

Boyd continues to recover as investigators move forward with the case.
