Fulton posted his gratitude for his time with the company and vowed to eventually make a return after what he called a "new path" that is "beginning to unfold."

Fulton was the original big man member of Sanity when the faction debuted in October 2016 and teammed with Alexander Wolfe in the Dusty Rhodes classic prior to the faction's first official appearance together.

However, he was written off TV one month later after suffering an arm injury and later replaced by Killian Dain.

The former WWE superstar also changed his Twitter bio to include "You may remember me from the hit TV show NXT," as a nod to The Simpsons character Troy McClure.

Fulton's releases comes less than a week after WWE suddenly released Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae on Sunday. Emma had recently been featured in a feud with Asuka on Monday Night RAW, while Young was a former tag team champion with Titus O'Neill.

Fulton, whose real name is Jacob Southwick, was a two-time NCAA All-American amateur wrestler who began his professional wrestling career training at the ASWA Pro Wrestling Training Center in Mansfield, Ohio in 2010.
