WWE officially announces the signing of top independent tag team

Bolsters the tag team division in a HUGE way.

The WWE has officially announced the signing of top independent tag team War Machine. This announcement coincides with another top indy-star, Ricochet, also being announced as a roster addition on Tuesday.

None of this comes as a shock either, as it was reported earlier in the week that the WWE would be making such public statements in regard to new talents joining the fold.

War Machine are a top tag team. A duo who should not be trifled with. The team of Hanson and Raymond Rowe captured the IWGP tag team Championship twice in New Japan. They might be most known, however, for holding the Ring of Honor tag team titles. War Machine wrestled what should be their farewell NJPW match at New Year Dash.

Per the WWE release:

New signees Todd "War Beard Hanson" Smith & Raymond Rowe, collectively known as War Machine, have terrorized teams around the world since forming an alliance in 2014. Together, they have won championships in the United States, England and Japan, including the prestigious IWGP Tag Team Titles, the same championship held by the likes of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and The Steiner Brothers.

The end of the statement is the most interesting, as the WWE states the duo are heading to the Performance Center in Orlando. It looks as though War Machine will first need to take a pit stop at NXT before going to the main roster.
